Norton S.
Executive Chairman

Norton has extensive experience at the senior management level of capital investments. He has been involved in a number of large acquisitions, consolidations, and start-ups in Canada's legal cannabis sector, both private and public. As an advisor to numerous companies in Canada's Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (M.M.P.R.) sector, Norton has deployed over $20,000,000 of capital investments into the M.M.P.R. industry.  As an experienced corporate leader, he has facilitated in regulatory matters, corporate matters, city and municipality by-law compliance, as well as aiding in adopting new M.M.P.R. zoning regulations with the city.

Previous to his work in the legal cannabis sector, Norton was the Executive Director of Syndicate Venture Capital, a venture holdings company involved primarily in real estate development.  Norton’s responsibilities included assessing business proposals, negotiating and liaising with investors and legal counsel, sourcing and allocating capital, and adhering to corporate regulation, among other progressive duties.  

Nortons operational excellence and diverse entrepreneurial background has culminated in him establishing Doventi Capital Inc. 


Joel Sherlock
Managing Partner - Chief Executive Officer

Joel brings a wealth of hands-on entrepreneurial business experience to the Doventi team. With a background in Finance, Technology, and Real Estate, Joel has been at the helm of multiple successful start-ups and corporate exits, including one of BC’s top private real estate brokerage houses, a National first action sports e-commerce company, a successful corporate consulting firm, and a $36,000,000 dollar private equity fund focused on Arizona real estate development. Joel is also an integral member of numerous Boards of Directors across BC.   

With his experience in the field, and his success in private equity ventures, Joel is a natural fit to help guide and grow Doventi. Joel is a proven leader, and consistently delivers shareholder returns.  Joel’s comprehensive understanding of the essential components needed to enrich profitable ventures compliments his diverse expertise in and passion for enterprise management. 

 


Pete Patterson - MBA / CMC / CPEP
Managing Partner - Chief Operating Officer

In addition to an MBA, Pete holds specialized certifications in Management Consulting, and Private Equity Operations. Pete’s strengths are showcased in his role in operations, business fundamentals, financial analysis, executive leadership, and market intelligence. Additionally, Pete has a vast amount of process improvement experience, managing projects with Fortune 500 companies and new entrepreneurial ventures. Pete funded his academic career by starting, building, and selling a technology company in the event sector. He then went on to found digital marketing company which exceeded $10M of revenue in it’s third year of operation. After exiting that organization, he worked as an investor and advisor to many companies, finding his way to the Private Equity space to follow his passion in developing businesses.


 

Bonita Ma - MSc
Director of Operations - Health Sciences 

Bonita Ma holds a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and an M.Sc. in Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia, graduating at the top 5% of her class.  With a specialization in pharmaceutical drug development and commercialization, Bonita spent three years developing drugs for neurodegenerative diseases, and now oversees clinical trials for multiple biotech startups in Toronto.

Bonita also has experience in the manufacturing industry, where she increased bottom-line profits by leading various product launches. Bonita’s passion lies in bringing accessible healthcare to those in need. She is currently enrolled in the Global Bio-design Program at Stanford.  


 

Fiona Nightingale - MA / RCC
Director of Communications and Investor Relations

Fiona graduated at the top of her class when she earned a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology, after completing her B.A in Creative Writing and Psychology at the University of Victoria. In an effort to compliment both her business and therapeutic practice, she went on to study Interpersonal Neurobiology in her post-graduate work.  

Whether working with established businesses or start-ups, Fiona specializes in conflict resolution, organizational transformation, and enriching corporate culture.  She is goal-oriented, and focused on the symmetry of a company’s branding, content management, communications, and customer-facing messaging.

Mike M. Suk - B.A. Comm
Executive Advisor to the Chairman

Mike M. Suk is an international financier and executive advisor, with over 10 years of experience structuring private and publicly traded companies in Canada and the US.  

Currently, CEO of a publicly traded company listed on the Toronto Venture Stock Exchange and Executive Director of the PW Foundation for Music (PWFM) - a registered federal charity in Canada.  He is also the Managing Director of the Star Youth Symphony Academy (SYSA) - a life enrichment and performing arts academy for youth.

Mr. Suk is the former Vice President of Petromin Resources Ltd. and Corporate Secretary of Terrawest Energy Corp.  Under his guidance, Petromin was graduated to Tier 1 status on the Toronto Stock Exchange and increased revenue more than 700%.

In 2007, as Executive Advisor for Enviro Energy International Holdings of Hong Kong – Mr. Suk secured the capital raise to enhance the firm’s production of domestic oil and gas interest in China while forging the Company’s international business initiatives in the Middle East.    

Mr. Suk was a key organizer in leading the Canadian contingent of the first ever Heavy Oil Conference in Kuwait in 2006 and was instrumental in joint venturing with the Alberta Research Council and the Canadian International Development Aid (CIDA) to fund and implement the application of Carbon Sequestration and Enhanced CBM recovery technology in China during this time.  
 
Mr. Suk attended Simon Fraser University and graduated with a B.A in Communications.      


Anthony Jackson - C.A.
Capital Advisor to the Management Team

Anthony Jackson is a Principal at BridgeMark Financial Corp. providing accounting and financial consulting services to developing and mature stage companies and by working as their chief financial officer (CFO), handling all aspects of the Company's administration, compliance, reporting and finance activities. 

Mr. Jackson is also founder of Jackson & Company Chartered Accountants assisting private and public companies with full service accounting and tax functions (audit, reviews, compilations, corporate and personal tax). Prior to his time at BridgeMark Financial, Mr. Jackson worked at Ernst & Young LLP for 3 years while obtaining his CA designation before moving onto work as a senior analyst at a boutique investment banking firm. 

During this time he worked on a broad range of public and private companies in a variety of industries. Most recently Mr. Jackson has had extensive experience as a Director and CFO of numerous publicly traded companies, and is currently the CFO of Mediterranean Resources Ltd. and Nanton Nickel Corp.

Mr. Jackson obtained his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 2006 and is a member of the BC and Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Simon Fraser in 2004.

Aaron Dow - LL.B / B.Sc
Corporate Compliance Advisor

Aaron practices at Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP in the Kelowna office as a solicitor in the areas of corporate and commercial law, real estate, bank lending, and wills and estates. Aaron will advise Doventi Capital on all acquisitions, as well as conduct due diligence on the corporate entities of all acquisitions.

Aaron holds an undergraduate degree in Science as well as a Law degree, both from the University of Victoria. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Metro Up Financial Literacy Society and is a member of both the Canadian Bar Association and the Kelowna Bar Association.


Ronald G. Murray - LL.B
Securities Compliance Advisor

Ron is the Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy's Securities practice group leader. He has a reputation for being an innovative and practical problem-solver, offering both strategic and legal advice to his clients. He is able to balance legal rigour with business realities. 

Ron will ensure Doventi Capital's private equity fund structure and offerings are fully compliant with the British Columbia Securities Commission.

Ron regularly advises on a range of corporate, capital markets and M&A transactions, and has extensive cross-border experience. His advice includes structuring considerations, related-party and special committee obligations, take-over defences and contested shareholder meetings. Having excellent relationships with securities regulators, Ron is well aware of the shifting legal landscape and the range of options available to his clients at any given time.

Ron’s clients operate in a variety of industry sectors, including mining, oil & gas, technology and biotechnology. They include public and private companies, limited partnerships, REITs, investment funds, portfolio managers and exempt market dealers.

Michael Deyholos - PhD

Michael Deyholos is Professor and Head of Biology at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan campus. Prior to coming to UBCO, he was a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta, where he worked with the genetics of industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa).

He holds a Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from McGill University (2000), and completed postdoctoral work at the University of Arizona

Aaron Godin

Aaron has over 10 years of research experience in soil biogeochemistry, studying the microbiological, physical, and chemical factors that mediate nutrient cycling. He has worked as a lab technician at both the Ontario Forest Research Institute and the Summerland Research and Development Centre (formally the Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre). Aaron has been involved in the medical marijuana industry for some time, working as a grower and QA/QC person. He is currently the lab manager at Zenalytic Laboratories, a medical marijuana and environmental chemistry lab.

Aaron completed his B.Sc. in biology and environment Science at the University of Toronto and his M.Sc. in biology at the University of British Columbia.
